"Where can we look at the northern lights, right from the comfort of our own private room?" It's a question we hear often, and one that you may be wondering too. It has always been our dream to build an overnight lodge specifically designed for aurora viewing. Guests have told us to "Hurry up and build!" We started from scratch again in June 2006...and finally, November 2008, we are now OPEN!!! We await your stay with us at the Aurora Borealis Lodge's brand new overnight accommodations.

Located 20 miles north of Fairbanks atop Cleary Summit (elev. 2000 ft), the Aurora Borealis Lodge is ideally situated for northern lights viewing. With views to the north extending all the way to the horizon, the Aurora Borealis Lodge sits atop Cleary Summit (elev. 2000-ft), world-renowned as the premier northern lights viewing location. Overnight Lodge Information
    All rooms include:
  • 2 big windows to the north for optimal viewing.
  • 2 deluxe Queen-size beds.
  • Full kitchen, complete with: cooking range, full-size oven, coffee maker, toaster oven, rice cooker, compact refrigerator/freezer, micorwave, plates, utensils, pots and pans.
  • Private bathroom. Shower only (no tub). Toilet with deluxe Panasonic heated seat/bidet.
  • Full sofa in front of north windows.
  • Speaker/Radio system for iPod/MP3 player.iPod

Room rates per night per room (based on double occupancy)

  • 1st Floor: $199.00/night for 1 night only, $179.00/night for 2 nights, $169.00/night for 3 or more nights.

  • 2nd Floor: $224.00/night for 1 night only, $199.00/night for 2 nights, $189.00/night for 3 or more nights.


  • $45.00/person additional for 3 or more person to a room. Children 15 and younger traveling with adults stay free. [Maximum 4-person to a room.]
  • 8% bed tax applies to above price(s).


  • Overnight lodge has 2 rooms on the 1st floor and 2 rooms on the 2nd floor. All rooms offer the same amenities listed above. All rooms are of the same size, though layout is different. 2nd Floor rooms have south-facing window as well.
  • 3-piece rental gear (Jacket, pants, boots) available for our overnight guests @ $30.00/set/stay.
  • Transportation to/from Fairbanks may be arranged for additional charge.

Relax in the big sofa and view the aurora from your room. Two deluxe queen-size beds provide for a wonderful night's (or day's) rest. Fully-furnished kitchens so you may have meals at your own convenience. Private bathrooms with showers, and Panasonic toilet seats!
